The small man nodded at her,
then handed over the pack. The money vanished somewhere in between, and his eyes gleamed amber and yellow.

"Shuffle 'em. Think of whatever you want answered. And be nice to the cards, or they may bite. Any spread you prefer?"

An Eyebrow raised . .
Was my initial response to teh comment about the cards biting. Nevertheless I handled them delicatly looking at the intricate design on the top of the pack. There weren't really any pressing questions that came to mind so I focused on life in general and the future. "To be honest Its been a while since I've done any spreads at all .. just a general reading I think" I replied continuing to shuffle "The only spread I can think of at the moment is the celtic cross but I can't remember if thats good for general readings .. "

Ah.
Erin accepted her milk gratefully and looked around at all the patrons. What a busy place indeed! She seemed to have chosen well in the social department.

But socializing could wait. For now she simply wanted to sit at the bar and observe.

Work? Job?
"What is work? What is job? I do not understand these words. . ." Sass felt very stupid right now, she didn't have a clue what a job or work was. . .

Re: Work? Job?
Well Work is when you do something for something. See i would be willing to work to get money so I can bye a glass of Wyne. Work is when you do a job for money. And a job is where you go to make money

Run-down barn of a place -- cool
Galain entered the Silver Dagger with none of his usual dramatics. That is, no wind blew him, the door didn't crash shut and he seemed relatively unnoticed.

Good. He'd just slip right on over to the bar, get himself a drink and...

“Jaina bo-baina! Sis!” Gods, the elf hadn’t seen Jaina in eons and here she was. Galain leaned forward, for now missing the goop, the alien, the girl who needed a job and whomever else was standing right there.

“Don’t tell me, you own this place?”

Bro!
"What gave it away? Was it my impeccable housekeeping?" Jaina asked this wryly, sidestepping the hole in the floor on her way to Galain. "Yeah, I'm sort of stuck with this mess for the moment. At least it hasn't been boring!" she added, gesturing to show Galain the variety of her patrons.

"So, can I get you anything? Gods, what brings my brother to my door, anyway? It's been too long! What've you been up to this time, elf?" Jaine bombarded him with queries. He'd have time to answer when she eventually drew a breath.

“Yeah, your impeccable housekeeping...” Galain smothered a chuckle as he watched Jaina sidestep the hole. He wondered momentarily if she felt the same he did about unnecessary expenditures...

He stared around, amazed by the various types of people here. “You’ve got yourself quite the crowd.” He grinned and nodded to a few familiar faces. He turned back to drape an arm around Jaina’s shoulder.

“Well first I’d love a cold ale if you have one. And as for what brings me here... I miss ya? And I think there is an anniversary of sorts coming up.” Galain’s frazzled brain was half afraid he’d already missed it. As it was, he just wanted to see Jaina. “And I’ve been utterly behaving,” he finally said in reply to her last question. He looked at her quite innocently and waited to see who would crack first.

If Galain's behaving, I'm Ricky Martin!
"Yeah, I'm doing good." Jaina leaned into Galain's embrace. Softly she added, "Thank you, for remembering what today is. Sort of. I haven't forgotten either, what you mean to me, brother. Has it really been an entire year?" Her soft smile spoke the volumes that she couldn't seem to voice.

"Thank you."

Funny, you don’t look like Ricky Martin...
Galain beamed. He had remembered after all! He hugged Jaina more tightly. Gods he’d missed her and he shared all the feelings she couldn’t quite voice, but which shown brightly in her eyes.

“Yes sister, it has really been a year.” He leaned back slightly and kissed her cheek before pulling away just enough to grin at her.

“And no, I’ve not really been behaving. It’s just not something I can do.” The elf winked. “Now what have you been up to?”

Tables turned
Jaina made a strange squeaking noise. Boy, her cheeks looked red! "M-me?" she stammered. Her eyes darted all over the bar. "Ohh, nothing." The bluff was obvious and she knew it, but it didn't matter much. With a sigh, she trudged into the truth. "Somehow or another I got stuck owning the place, and the debts that came with it. The local authorities refuse to let me leave the area at large until I ante up. Kinda impairs vacation plans, y'know? I suppose I could've tried to portal out, but strangely, I like it here, and with my poor portalling skill I'd never get back. There's a "junk heap" ambiance to this place."

Suddenly Jaina grinned, her eyes lighting up simultaneously. "But you can aim portals, right? So maybe I could visit some friends? Man, I miss the inns and parties, Galain. I need to get back every now and then, or always. Sometime.

"Anyway, you wanted ale? You and your ale!" Jaina laughed happily. "I suppose you'll want to sleep it off in one of the guest rooms upstairs? Beats the hell out of being tripped over on the bar floor, let me tell you! Dare I invite you into the storage cellar, or would you drink me dry?" With one foot on the cellar steps, she paused, awaiting Galain's answer

Drink you dry, eh?
It was fun watching Jaina squirm.

“Yes, you can aim portals. I do it all the time although occasionally I miss.” The elf grinned as he said this. “We miss you very much. Any way I can help out with the debt problem?” He couldn’t believe he was offering help, but heck, anything for his adopted sister.

He stepped after Jaina, eyes intent on the storage cellar.

“I promise not to drink you dry, but gods, a room and the hospitality of your storage cellar sounds terrific!” Trust the elf to never turn down an invitation like that.

Papa Galainie! (No dammit, I'M Ricky Martin!)
Four year old Zara squirmed out of AnThaya's arms and crashed into Galain's leg. She squeezed it, sitting on his foot and intending not to let go.

"Papa Galain! I miss you! You miss me??? Where's daddy?"

Startled Amazon...
was an understatement as to An'Thaya's reaction when she found herself holding a four year old version of Zara. "Well, aren't you just precious," she chuckled as the little Sith wiggled out of her arms and headed for 'Papa' Galain. She would let the Princely one deal with that one, his arrival had saved her from a very akward situation... but no, she wasn't about to help him out any, or explain for that matter. She had the feeling this fellow was amuseing when cornered....

What the?!
Galain stared down in shock at the small version of Zara and groaned. Gingerly he raised his leg and gently tried to shake the diminutive Sithlet off his leg and then he tried to pry her off.

“Erm, I miss you too. I dunno where Elyen is. Probably out and about as usual.” The elf again tried to pry Zara off and got his arm snatched for his efforts so now he balanced precariously on one foot, feeling very much like an elven pretzel.

“Could you uh, let go of my arm, please? And maybe my foot too?” Galain started hopping and found himself crashing backward into Jaina, resulting in the three of them rolling into through the doorway of the storage cellar.

“Gaaagh!” came Galain’s cry of frustration.

“Wheee!” Zara shrieked.

“Nooo!” Jaina exclaimed.

Wheeeeeeee!
Zara sat on the Galain-and-Jaina pile happily bouncing away, giggling madly.

"Again, Papa Galain, again! Up Auntie Jainey! Lets do it again!"

You break it, you buy it!
The dust down here was intense. Between sneezes, Jaina managed to wryly sputter, "Welcome to the cellar.

"Some of these crates were down here when I took over. Got no idea what's in all of those. There's a coldwater spring in at the far wall, which keeps milk and a few other things cold. There's not much room, though, so the the meat's salted for preservation, and liquor's generally served warm. Call it European or whatever, but that's the way it is. I think you wanted ale, Galain?" She didn't make a move to disentangle herself from him, however. "And I suppose my Princess Peanut here wants something, eh Zara? Because I do not want another ride down the stairs, thanks, so we'd better keep you happy with other amusement! Now, what to get the munchkin..."

Not again! No!
“Gesundheit,” Galain said before stifling a groan. He was not about to repeat that little scene. Not again. He just laid there, entangled hopelessly with Jaina as she cheerfully described the place.

“Ale would be good. I wanted ale. I’d get the peanut some milk.” He grinned at Jaina and then started to chuckle. They must be a sight.
